A Week of Insights and Inspiration at Hospitality Indonesia Conference (HIC) 2025!

It has been an incredibly exciting and fulfilling week, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Hospitality Indonesia Conference (HIC) 2025 as a moderator and panelist during the opening session of this prestigious two-day event representing I-AM and Interiologic

The session revolved around a highly relevant and thought-provoking topic: "The Future of Hotel Design: Trends Shaping the Indonesian Hospitality Landscape." Alongside esteemed panelists Ray Vees Goh of Benoy Landscape Architecture, Chiara Calufetti-Lim of WATG and Wimberly Interiors, and Clemens Bauer Regional Director of Product & Technical Services of The Ascott Limited we delved into a deep and engaging discussion about the key design trends shaping the hospitality industry in Indonesia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

Our conversation explored critical aspects such as Eco-friendliness & Sustainable Practices – How hotels are integrating green technologies, energy-efficient systems, and eco-conscious materials to create more sustainable hospitality experiences.

Also explored - Cultural & Heritage Influence – The importance of preserving Indonesia’s vast and diverse cultural heritage in modern hotel design, ensuring that each region's unique identity is reflected in its architectural and interior aesthetics.

Indonesia, with its incredible diversity of cultures, traditions, and landscapes, provides a unique canvas for the future of hospitality design. It was a privilege to discuss how the industry can strike the right balance between innovation, sustainability, and cultural authenticity—ensuring that hotels not only meet the demands of modern travelers but also contribute positively to their surroundings.
